This page explains what personal data Top 44 ("we", "us") collects when you use https://thetop44predictor.co.uk, why we collect it, and your rights over it.

Who is the data controller

The data controller for Top 44 is the Top 44 team, contactable at support@thetop44predictor.co.uk.

What we collect

• Account information: email address, a password hash, chosen username, and the date your account was created.
• Game data: your predictions, the private leagues you belong to, and the scores calculated from them.
• Technical data: standard server logs including IP address, browser type and page URLs, used for security and abuse prevention.
• Cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and, if enabled, analytics and advertising cookies (see below).

How we use your data

• To operate the game — creating your account, storing predictions, calculating scores and displaying leaderboards.
• To send transactional emails such as password reset requests. We do not send marketing emails.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
• To measure aggregate usage of the site so we can improve it.

Legal bases

We rely on contract (to provide the game you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement) and, where required, consent (non-essential cookies such as analytics and advertising).

Cookies, analytics and Google advertising

Top 44 uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and cannot be turned off. Where we enable analytics or Google advertising (including Google AdSense), we and our advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their effectiveness.

Sharing your data

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed and predictions are anonymised within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@thetop44predictor.co.uk to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children

Top 44 is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the site.
